Having fun
When having to make a choice most people think they have to choose between the two. Far too often people go for the latter and naturally choose fun. For instance many people would prefer watching television, or more commonly known as TV to exercising, we all know that it’s true, right? The problem is, if you don’t exercise you will become weak and ultimately out of shape and it is no fun to be out of shape, right? So the question is, why not turn exercise into fun?
As an example, if TV is your favorite thing to do, why not connect your TV set to an electric generator that is charged by a stationary bike, you know, the kind of bike you peddle, that doesn’t go anywhere. So think about it, the more you watch TV, the fitter you’ll be.
Now if you are the kind of person who thinks listening to music is fun and you spend many hours alone tap tap tapping your fingers and your toes to the beat, why not take it one step further and get up on your feet and dance, dance, dance.
Or maybe you’re the type of person who prefers being with your friends. There are many ways one could have fun with their pals. For instance you could just hang out and do nothing or better yet you could get into a friendly game of basketball or football there is no rule that says everyone has to be as good as Yao Ming or David Beckham, right?
However sometimes there just aren’t enough players, or you may even be alone in which case you could go for a ride on your bike, maybe, stop by the library to borrow a book, or go for a walk around the park and enjoy the sunshine and scenery. Before you know it, you’re having fun.
Let’s face it, exercise is work and when we think of work we think of thankless underpaid hardships yet it needn’t be this way, if we think of exercise as fun.
Honorable Judges, fellow students:
Good afternoon!
Recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. The college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places. But will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? Will we be able to better the lives of others? Will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country?
The cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, which would cringe at the slightest discomfort. But the cynics are wrong. The college students I see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. We help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.
The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. Last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. We all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. I believe in all my fellow classmates. Though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. I believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. We are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place. I believe in our future.
thank you!
my home town my home town is a beautiful place. it stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice. but in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. many people had no work. they lived a hard life. in 1949 my hometown was liberated. since then great changes have taken place there. the streets have been widened. factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. the life of the people is greatly improved. i love my hometown. all the more i love its people. they are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.
Discovering Beauty
Life is full of beauty. Beauty lies not only in nature but also in our heart. If we have a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted, we can find beauty everywhere around.
Let beauty be our guide to understand ourselves. People always have a strong desire for better appearance. Whatever their age, size, or shape, they hope to look more attractive. Beauty is only skin deep. But true beauty lies deep inside us. A heart for love is the most valuable. Only in our heart does beauty make our life beautiful.
Let beauty be our way to communicate with nature. At the foot of the hill, we see beauty running in the clear river smoothly. On top of the mount, we see beauty rising with the dawn from the east quietly. In the heat of summer, we see beauty dancing with the autumn leaves. In the cold of winter, we see beauty coming with the spring upon sprouts. We shout, we love you, Nature! Our voice reverberates across the mountains, while beauty reverberates in our heart!
Let beauty be our bridge between man and nature. In the harmony, beauty is a garden for ever in bloom and a flock of angels for ever in flight.
Beauty is something to see, to breathe, to feel and to complete. Beauty is life when life unveils her holy face.
If there is any single factor that makes for success in living,it is theability to profit by defeat.Every success I know has been achieved because theperson was able to analyze defeat and actually profit by it in his nextundertaking.
Confuse defeat with failure, and you are doomed indeed to failure. For itisn't defeat that makes you fail:it is your own refusal to see in defeat theguide and encouragement to success.
Defeats are nothing to be ashamed of.They are routine incidents in the lifeof every man who achieves success. But defeat is a dead loss unless you do faceit without humiliation, analyze it and learn why you failed.Defeat,in otherwords, can help to cure its own cause. Not only does defeat prepare us forsuccess, but nothing can arouse within us such a compelling desire to succeed.Ifyou let a baby grasp a rod and try to pull it away,he will cling more and moretightly until his whole weight is suspended. It is this same reaction whichshould give you new and greater strength every time you are defeated.
If you exploit the power which defeat gives, you can accomplish with it farmore than you are capable of.
Everybody is good! Welcome to badaling scenic area tourism.
The Great Wall is one of the seven wonders of the world. It is the blood of the working people in ancient China, is also a symbol of ancient Chinese culture and the pride of the Chinese nation. I have a dream
Good morning ladies andgentlemen:
Everyone sitting here has his own dream.Martin Luther King’s dream is to let all the Negro slaves not wallow in thevalley of despair; Abraham Lincoln’s dream is to unite all theAmericans. Today I’m proud to say that I have a dream, my dream is to be adiplomat.
If I’m a diplomat, first of all,I’ll devotemyself to the Chinese Taiwan issue. The majority of Chinese people stronglyoppose Chinese Taiwan’sindependence, because we have been separated from our relations andfriends for more than 50 years. As president Lincoln said: A housedivided against itself cannot stand. So as a diplomat, I will tryto get all the separate families reunited and shorten the distancebetween the hearts of two peoples. Nowadays, China plays animportant economic and political role in the world, soI’m sure thatI’ll be able toconvince big countries such as America, Britain and Russia tosupport our>
It is a commonplace among moralists that you cannot get happiness by pursuing it. This is only true if you pursue it unwisely. Gamblers at Monte Carlo are pursuing money, and most of them lose it instead, but there are other ways of pursuing money, which often succeed. So it is with happiness. If you pursue it by means of drink, you are forgetting the hangover. Epicurus pursued it by living only in congenial society and eating only dry bread, supplemented by a little cheese on feast days. His method proved successful in his case, but he was a valetudinarian, and most people would need something more vigorous. For most people, the pursuit of happiness, unless supplemented in various ways, is too abstract and theoretical to be adequate as a personal rule of life. But I think that whatever personal rule of life you may choose it should not, except in rare and heroic cases, be incompatible with happiness. If you look around at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have certain things in common.
The most important of these things is an activity which at most gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into existence. Women who take an instinctive pleasure in their children can get this kind of satisfaction out of bringing up a family. Artists and authors and men of science get happiness in this way if their own work seems good to them. But there are many humbler forms of the same kind of pleasure. Many men who spend their working life in the city devote their weekends to voluntary and unremunerated toil in their gardens, and when the spring comes, they experience all the joys of having created beauty. The whole subject of happiness has, in my opinion, been treated too solemnly.
It had been thought that man cannot be happy without a theory of life or a religion. Perhaps those who have been rendered unhappy by a bad theory may need a better theory to help them to recover, just as you may need a tonic when you have been ill. But when things are normal a man should be healthy without a tonic and happy without a theory. It is the simple things that really matter. If a man delights in his wife and children, has success in work, and finds pleasure in the alternation of day and night, spring and autumn, he will be happy whatever his philosophy may be. If, on the other hand, he finds his wife fateful, his children’s noise unendurable, and the office a nightmare; if in the daytime he longs for night, and at night sighs for the light of day, then what he needs is not a new philosophy but a new regimen--a different diet, or more exercise, or what not. Man is an animal, and his happiness depends on his physiology more than he likes to think. This is a humble conclusion, but I cannot make myself disbelieve it. Unhappy businessmen, I am convinced, would increase their happiness more by walking six miles every day than by any conceivable change of philosophy.
good morning, dear teacher and my friends.
Someone said“we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”.I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to are all in the position of the we plant a good seed,we reap a good we plant nothing at all,we harvest nothing at all.
We are young.“How to spend the youth?”It is a meaningful answer it,first I have to ask“what do you understand by the word youth?”Youth is not a time of life,it’s a state of ’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple ’s the matter of the ’s the freshness of the deep spring of life.
A poet said“To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an ral days ago,I had a chance to listen to a lecture.I learnt a lot there.I’d like to share it with all of ’s show our right can see three lines that show how our er and life is.I have a short line of about yours?I wondered whether we could see our future in this ,let’s make a e is our future?Where is our love, career, and life?Tell ,it is in our is held in ourselves.
We all want the future to be better than the the future can go better ’t cry because it is over, smile because it the past,we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are ’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about ure doesn’t mean you don’t have it,it does mean you should do it in a different ure doesn’t mean you should give up,it does mean you must try harder.
As what I said at the beginning,“we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite” past has ing we do will change the future is in front of eve that what we give to the world, the world will give to from today on,let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out“We are the world,we are the future.”
Thank you!
I love you,China
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, I’m very glad to make a speech here. Today my topic is “I love you, China.”
Since the day I was born, I began to have a proud name—Chinese. Since the day I began to talk, the most beautiful sentence I’ve ever learnt has been “I love you, China!”
I love you, China, and I’m so proud of being a Chinese. I’m proud that I’ve got the beautiful yellow skin, black eyes and black hair. I’m also proud that I speak the most beautiful language in the world—Chinese.
I love you, China, for I can feel the deep love you give me every day, every minute. Last year, I got an opportunity to visit the United States of America. During my staying there, my father’s boss once invited my family to dinner. While at , he looked at me and asked: “Little boy, how long have you been in America?” “About a month,” I answered, “How lucky you are!” he said, “If you were living in China, how could you learn such perfect English?” I smiled and told him proudly that all the students in China are able to learn English at school. I saw his surprised eyes and said to myself, “I’m proud of you, China ”
different people have different lifestyles. they do the same things from morning to evening every day.
usually, they write their plans on paper. but sometimes they remember what things they will do in their minds. i also have my own lifestyle. it is wonderful! i get up early on weekdays, and do the school things then. but at the weekend, i never get up early. i sometimes stay in bed until lunchtime. one day, i stayed in bed very late. it was a weekday. the clock rang. it was six thirty. but i didn’t hear it. i stayed in bed until seven o’clock. i looked at the clock and jumped from the bed to the floor. i was afraid, “oh, my god, i will be late.” i shouted. so i didn’t have breakfast. i put on my shoes and took a taxi to the school. i was in good luck that day. i wasn’t late for school. i was pleased that time.
i think i should get up earlier on weekdays or i will be late. i believe you get up earlier on weekdays.
best wishes for you.
