arkansas is a state that knows political skill when you see it. a fellow in saline county was asked by his son why he liked governor clinton so much. he said, son, he'll look you in the eye, he'll shake your hand, he'll hold your baby, he'll pat your dog -- all at the same time.
in the early 1990s, the american people saw a young, well-spoken, relatively unknown governor rise to national prominence. yet for decades here in arkansas, the signs of destiny were clear. when young william entered a new school in the 4th grade, a classmate recalls, "he didn't mean to, but he just took the place over." when governor clinton declared his candidacy for president in this city, his close friends were not surprised in the least. they'd always known that bill clinton's moment in history would come.
over the years, bill clinton showed himself to be much more than a good politician. his home state elected him governor in the 1970s, the 1980s, and the 1990s, because he was an innovator, a serious student of policy, and a man of great compassion. in the white house, the whole nation witnessed his brilliance and mastery of detail, his persuasive power, and his persistence. the president is not the kind to give up a fight. his staffers were known to say, "if clinton were the titanic, the iceberg would sink."
thank you, mr. chairman.
mr. chairman, i join my colleague mr. rangel in thanking you for giving the junior members of this committee the glorious opportunity of sharing the pain of this inquiry. mr. chairman, you are a strong man, and it has not been easy but we have tried as best we can to give you as much assistance as possible.
earlier today, we heard the beginning of the preamble to the constitution of the united states: "we, the people." it's a very eloquent beginning. but when that document was completed on the seventeenth of september in 1787, i was not included in that "we, the people." i felt somehow for many years that george washington and alexander hamilton just left me out by mistake. but through the process of amendment, interpretation, and court decision, i have finally been included in "we, the people."
today i am an inquisitor. an hyperbole would not be fictional and would not overstate the solemnness that i feel right now. my faith in the constitution is whole; it is complete; it is total. and i am not going to sit here and be an idle spectator to the diminution, the subversion, the destruction, of the constitution.
"who can so properly be the inquisitors for the nation as the representatives of the nation themselves?" "the subjects of its jurisdiction are those offenses which proceed from the misconduct of public men." and that's what we're talking about. in other words, [the jurisdiction comes] from the abuse or violation of some public trust.
it is wrong, i suggest, it is a misreading of the constitution for any member here to assert that for a member to vote for an article of impeachment means that that member must be convinced that the president should be removed from office. the constitution doesn't say that. the powers relating to impeachment are an essential check in the hands of the body of the legislature against and upon the encroachments of the executive. the division between the two branches of the legislature, the house and the senate, assigning to the one the right to accuse and to the other the right to judge, the framers of this constitution were very astute. they did not make the accusers and the judgers -- and the judges the same person.
we know the nature of impeachment. we've been talking about it awhile now. it is chiefly designed for the president and his high ministers to somehow be called into account. it is designed to "bridle" the executive if he engages in excesses. "it is designed as a method of national inquest into the conduct of public men." the framers confided in the congress the power if need be, to remove the president in order to strike a delicate balance between a president swollen with power and grown tyrannical, and preservation of the independence of the executive.
the nature of impeachment: a narrowly channeled exception to the separation-of-powers maxim. the federal convention of 1787 said that. it limited impeachment to high crimes and misdemeanors and discounted and opposed the term "maladministration." "it is to be used only for great misdemeanors," so it was said in the north carolina ratification convention. and in the virginia ratification convention: "we do not trust our liberty to a particular branch. we need one branch to check the other."
"no one need be afraid" -- the north carolina ratification convention -- "no one need be afraid that officers who commit oppression will pass with immunity." "prosecutions of impeachments will seldom fail to agitate the passions of the whole community," said hamilton in the federalist papers, number 65. "we divide into parties more or less friendly or inimical to the accused." i do not mean political parties in that sense.

My hometown is very beautiful, there are many beautiful places, but my favorite is the banyan tree.
Yes, English is an international language, in communication when communicating with foreigners, English is a must, but in our China, you must speak good Chinese. Some people half in and half the yankees, with a few words in Chinese, foreign language; Some people speak word order confusion, the fine Chinese words not nor; Some life in China, long in China, but he said the bad Chinese at the same time, in a foreign language is heavy, also said what to adapt to the trend; Boys and girls, let's learn Chinese well, speaking mandarin
Damage state language problems have emerged, as middle school students, we must not stand idly by, "write standard words, speak mandarin" in school, in social life, learn to use language to describe our whole world.
"With language, create beautiful motherland tomorrow".
During his presidency, bill clinton seized important opportunities on issues from welfare to free trade. He was a tireless champion of peace in the middle east. he used american power in the balkans to confront aggression and halt ethnic cleansing. And in all his actions and decisions, the american people sensed a deep empathy for the poor and the powerless. Shortly before leaving office, president clinton said, "christ admonished us that our lives will be judged by how we do unto the least of our neighbors." Throughout his career, bill clinton has done his best to live up to that standard. And americans respect him for it. at every stage of his remarkable life, president clinton has made and kept countless friends, who share in the joy of this day. and three people in particular have the largest part in this remarkable story. one day more than 30 years ago, inside the yale law library, a fellow student walked over to bill clinton and said, "If you're going to keep staring at me, and i'm going to keep staring back, we ought to at least know each other's name. Mine's hillary rodham. what is yours?"that was a good day for both of them, and the beginning of a partnership unique in american history. So today, we honor the former first lady of arkansas, the former first lady of america, the united states senator from new york, senator hillary rodham clinton.
Perhaps the clintons' greatest achievement is their daughter, who moved into the white house as a young girl, and left as an accomplished young lady. It's not easy to be a teenager in the white house, but it's a lot easier when you have a loving mother and a loving father that chelsea clinton had.
Ladies and gentleman,good evening!
It's my great honor to present this speech today.my name is peace and i am from class 1 of teaching chinese as a foreign language. my topic today is "living at present is my top concern"。
We've often heard the famous words;“yesterday is history, tomorrow is mistery, but today is a gift, that's why it's called 'present' ”.indeed, rich or poor, every one is endowed with this most precious gift .Only by treasuring it and living to our fullest potential in the present, can we project our way forward to a bright and rewarding future.
Living at present requires a positive attitude to confront life;it's having the wisdom to spend our life’s resources engaging in the most productive affairs; it's directing our time and energy towards the most efficient way to achieve a promising future! by living at present, we'll have more time and energy to focus on our goals and make a diffference to whatever our current task may be. furthermore, it's learning from the past instead of unnecessarily carrying heavy burdens from yesterday, and planing our future to wisely prepare for it instead of being impatient or restless . if we drawn, or let ourselves be overcome by yesterday's memories or strong feelings , how can we be observant enough to focus on things going on around us? if we are into dreaming or unnecessary concern for tomorrow, how can we prepare well for the exciting upcoming future?
That is why living at present is my top concern.
Living at present demands the courage to throw away useless encumbrances of the past , to accept what is unchangeable, to change what is chnageable, and to learn from the past which should be a lesson. ,instead of an obstacle.
Living at present also requires the wisdom to concentrate on the present ,preparing for the future and courageously displaying the patience to wait for tomorrow.
Over a long period of time, taking care of my little brother and making money at university push me too hard ,and i was so exhausted and anxious that i couldn't even sleep though my sleeping time is extremely limited.eventually, i came to realize that i must lay off the mental burdens like worries from the past and concerns for the future and live at present. I need just to realise that i am on my way to my destination. Because i now know, that my top concern is "living at present "!

we set no bounds to our inclinations. nor to the unrestricted opportunities of gratifying them. we have as yet found no obstacle, no disposition to flag; and it seems that we can go on so forever. we look round in a new world, full of life, and motion, and ceaseleprogress; and feel in ourselves all the vigor and spirit to keep pace with it, and do not foresee from any present symptoms how we shall be left behind in the natural course of things, decline into old age, and drop into the grave. it is the simplicity, and as it were abstractedneof our feelings in youth, that (so to speak) identifies us with nature, and (our experience being slight and our passions strong) deludes us into a belief of being immortal like it. our short-lives connection with existence we fondly flatter ourselves, is an indissoluble and lasting union-a honeymoon that knows neither coldness, jar, nor separation. as infants smile and sleep, we are rocked in the cradle of our wayward fancies, and lulled into security by the roar of the universe around us0we quaff the cup of life with eager haste without draining it, instead of which it only overflows the more-objects prearound us, filling the mind with their magnitude and with the strong of desires that wait upon them, so that we have no room for the thoughts of death.
As you slowly open your eyes, look around, notice where the light comes into your room;listen carefully, see if there are new sounds you can recognize;feel with your body and spirit, and see if you can sense the freshness in the air.
Yes,yes, yes,it’s a new day,it’s a different day,and it’s a bright day!And most importantly,it is a new beginning for your life,a beginning where you are going to make new desicisions, take new actions, make new friends, and take your life to a totally unprecedented level!
In your mind’s eye,you can see clearly the things you want to have, the paces you intend to go,the relationships you desire to develop, and the positions you aspire to reach.
You can hear your laughters of joy and happiness on the day when everything happens as you dream. You can see the smiles on the people around you when the magic moment strikes.
president clinton, senator clinton, president carter and mrs. carter, president bush and mother governor and mrs. huckabee, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen: laura and i are really pleased to be a part of this happy and historic occasion. on this day of dedication, we honor the man from hope, arkansas, who became the 42nd president of the united states. mr. president, congratulations.
this presidential library chronicles a vivid era in american history, for the benefit of future generations. it will contribute to the vitality of this fine city and to the great state of arkansas. the collections here record the dedication and hard work of thousands, who brought talent and idealism to public service. and at the center of that era, at the head of that administration, was an able and energetic american. president bill clinton led our country with optimism and a great affection for the american people, and that affection has been returned. he gave all to his job, and the nation gave him two terms.
in the early 1990s, the american people saw a young, well-spoken, relatively unknown governor rise to national prominence. yet for decades here in arkansas, the signs of destiny were clear. when young william entered a new school in the 4th grade, a classmate recalls, "he didn't mean to, but he just took the place over." when governor clinton declared his candidacy for president in this city, his close friends were not surprised in the least. they'd always known that bill clinton's moment in history would come.
here is a wisdom called to let go, there is a kind of learning is called choice, there is a kind of victory is called a successful selection and composition of 500 15 choice and successful composition 500 words article 15. Some give up, choose more suitable for their goals, may success closer.
Materials thinkers in stork say; "The ability of survival needs more than one! Rabbit cannot learn swimming in school make hole, squirrel learn swimming in school to climb trees!" I think this is right. The swimming may really not suitable for a rabbit if give up swimming, choose to make hole maybe it could be a hole experts; Pine swim, climb a tree, I believe it will do very well.
Ancient find today, up and down five thousand years, nine miles, how many great experience of success is not to give up, to choose process. Tao yuanming abandoned him, not for the bureau count, chose seclusion, will become the place in landscape pastoral poet; Lin xiangru's abandoned their own self-interest, chose the interests of the country, and become a much-told tale; Su Wu give up splendor, chose to remain national moral integrity, so he never go down in history; Romantic poet li bai gave up at the king's officer, chose the grizzled troubadour, then write a lot of historic tion, became the "god".

As the song goes “ My future isn’t a dream .” I love the song which brings me heart when singing it every time . I believe that all our dreams can come true if we have nerve to pursue them .When I was young my mother always asked me what I would be in the future . Sometimes I found it very hard to give a certain answer . “ I want to be a doctor .” “ I want to be a teacher .” and “ I ’d like to be a scientist !” Many of these answers are perhaps very childish . But I never think they are far away .
How time flies! Who is able to give a set to his future ? I know clearly that those high buildings are based on solid foundation . As a student , I should have a thinking aim , and study hard . My goal is to enter a good middle school for further study after primary school . I know it’s hard work , and I will come across many difficulties . But no matter what they are , I will keep working on it and never give up . My teacher says there is only one kind of people that are truly successful : those who are brave enough to put up with hardships . Even if I won’t gein the goal , I have no regets for what I have done , for I have fight for my life.
My Home, My Heaven
Dongying,my home,is located in the vast delta plains of the majestic YellowRiver. There are reeds undulating on the golden beach and varies birds soaringover the wetlands. Dongying is a city of oil as well as ecology. The roaringfrom the running drillings and the sweat on the faces of oil workers witnessedthe development of this land.
As an out-and-out child of Dongying,I have lived here for 20 years. Ididn’t experience the full glorious history of the land, but the customs and thespirits have branded in my heart. I could not erase them, for I am a daughter ofan oil worker.
The sincere and hard-working people here taught me what is perseverance;our mother river and the magnificent Bohai Sea show me catholicity; the elegantswans and the azure sky give us the best instance for harmony between humanbeings and the environment. Actually, all of them are the fortune for my wholelife.
It is not difficult for us to find immense differences happened inDongying, especially after the reforming and opening-up. When I was a volunteerof the China-Dongying International Petroleum Equipment & TechnologyExhibition in 20__,what shocked me is the rapid growth of this land. With theincreasing development of social modernization,we aim not only at efficientlyimproving people’s life, but in the success of constructing an affluent societyand thoroughly applying the Scientific Outlook on Development in recent decades. In order to achieve these goals,it will be our responsibilities to makecontributions. As a student at college, the greatest contribution I can do is tokeep the determination, endeavor to study scientific knowledge and keep the senseof historical responsibility. In this way,I believe, the future of Dongying willbe better.
Born here and living here,I would like to quote the famous Chinese poet AiQing’s lyrics to express myself: “Why are the tears always in my eyes? That'sbecause I love the land so much.”
